Find Fannin County Jail Releases

To find someone released from Fannin County Jail, first identify who controlled the person’s custody and what kind of exit occurred. A local jail release may return someone to the community after bond, dismissal, time served, or another order. It may instead be a transfer to state, federal, immigration, or another county’s custody. Fannin County Jail release confirmation therefore needs more than a missing name. The booking and release entry, the controlling court record, and any receiving-agency record together show when county custody ended and what happened next.

Fannin County Jail Release Paths

Fannin County Jail can hold a local arrestee awaiting a misdemeanor or felony case, a sentenced county prisoner, a person waiting for TDCJ intake, or a contract prisoner controlled by another authority. A person who physically leaves the Silo Road building may enter the community, another institution, an agency vehicle, court transport, or medical transport. The county release or transfer entry must identify the event.

For a local case, pair the jail record with the Fannin court docket or signed order. Bond, dismissal, time served, probation, and other court-authorized outcomes each require their own proof. A bond amount alone does not show that bond was posted and processed. A docket order can precede the actual jail exit by hours.

Confirm Fannin County Jail Release

No official county roster or recent-release feed was found in the bounded official sweep dated August 2, 2026. Start with direct jail confirmation and a durable record. Use a booking number when known; otherwise provide the full name, aliases, date of birth, and approximate booking date.

  1. Call Fannin County Jail at 903-640-4171 and ask whether the person is presently held.
  2. If not held, ask whether staff can state the release or transfer date, type, and receiving agency.
  3. Check Texas IVSS-Counties for a custody event, but treat an alert as notice rather than a certified discharge.
  4. Submit the county’s mandatory public-information form for the booking and release entry.
  5. Reconcile the entry through the proper court or receiving-agency record.

The broader Fannin County released inmate search explains how to continue when the final custodian is unclear. Do not treat roster disappearance as proof. A transfer also removes a person from county custody.

Important: “Released from Fannin County Jail” does not necessarily mean released into the community or free from another agency’s custody.

Fannin County Jail Records

The county’s Public Information Request page directs requesters to a mandatory PDF form. Request a narrow date range and electronic copies. Include full name and aliases, date of birth if known, approximate arrest or booking date, and booking number if available.

Ask for the booking sheet, exact booking and release date and time, release type or reason, bond or court authority, releasing agency, destination or receiving agency, charges, dispositions, and booking photograph when relevant. The county may redact or withhold protected content. Ask for existing records rather than a legal conclusion.

The release log fixes the custody transaction. For felony and district matters, the District Clerk handles the court record. The County Clerk Criminal Department maintains misdemeanor cases.

Contact Fannin County Jail

The official sheriff source supplies the jail’s address, phone, and fax. It does not publish release-desk hours, the public exit, property pickup steps, weekend release practice, a family waiting area, or a gate-money rule. Call to confirm those operational points instead of importing a practice from another Texas jail.

The sheriff’s general office and the jail are different contacts. Immediate custody, transfer destination, property, and release-processing questions belong with the jail. A durable copy or exact transaction code belongs through the PIA route.

Note: Write down the date, time, number called, office, and answer, then seek the written record before stating a release as final.

Fannin County Jail Profile

A 2025 PREA audit identifies the present jail as a LaSalle-operated facility with male and female custody. Its figures describe the facility at that audit, not a live daily count.

664Designed capacity in 2025 audit
525Population at audit
59312-month average daily population

The audit records an age range from 17 to 77. These details help identify the facility and its documented population profile. They do not establish who is presently held or how a particular release was processed.

Fannin Jail Mixed Custody History

Fannin County Jail has a documented local and federal-contract history. A 2009 USMS agreement identifies the Silo Road site as a federal-prisoner placement partner. A 2018 county operating RFP also describes USMS and other federal contracting populations. These dated documents prove historical relationships, not that each contract or population remains active in 2026.

An older federal hearing record reports an ICE contract beginning September 1, 2018. It must also remain labeled historical. No current ICE facility listing or current contract proof for Fannin was verified. When a jail record names ICE, use the ICE detainee locator, recognizing that it covers current adult custody and releases within the preceding 60 days and has exact-match limits.

USMS controls federal prisoners from court-ordered custody through acquittal or delivery to BOP after conviction. It has no public inmate locator. A federal prisoner held at Fannin may not yet appear in the BOP locator. Use the federal docket, the jail record, counsel or court records, and a later BOP result if the person enters BOP custody.

Match Fannin Release Facilities

Two TDCJ prisons sit near the county jail in Bonham. Buster Cole Unit is at 3801 Silo Road, while Choice Moore Unit is at 1700 North FM 87. A result that says only “Bonham” does not identify the custodial agency. Match the full facility name, address, operator, and identifier.

The older 2018 county RFP described a 432-bed detention component plus concurrent operation of a 96-bed jail. The 2025 audit reports designed capacity of 664. Those sources document an evolving or combined footprint, but they do not establish an exact expansion date or construction story. Keeping the dates attached explains why older sources may show different figures.

Cole has a 900-person capacity and Choice Moore has a 1,224-person capacity. They are state prisons governed by TDCJ. A move from Fannin County Jail to either unit is a transfer, not community release, and the TDCJ admission provides the receiving side of the record.

Trace Fannin Jail Transfers

A transfer needs records from both sides. The Fannin County Jail entry should give the county custody end, destination, receiving agency, and authority when those fields are releasable. The next system should then show admission or continued custody. The two timestamps may differ because transportation and intake processing occur between them.

For TDCJ, search by TDCJ number or SID and allow for intake lag. For a federal pretrial matter, use the federal docket because USMS has no public prisoner locator and the person may not yet appear in BOP. If BOP later lists “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” that wording proves only departure from BOP. It does not rule out another custodian.

ICE’s locator searches current adult detention and releases within the preceding 60 days. Exact spelling, country of birth, recent intake lag, age, security limits, or time outside that window can produce no match. If a Fannin record names ICE and the locator fails, contact the appropriate ICE field office or reporting line rather than assuming community release.

Fannin Jail Court Confirmation

The Fannin court portal can display approved online criminal material such as case number, party, charge, docket event, bond, judgment, dismissal, sentence, and disposition. Not every document is published. Older files may be stored off-site and need clerk retrieval.

Use the court record to explain the legal authority, then use the jail entry for the exact custody end. A dismissal does not itself identify when jail processing finished. Time served needs the judgment, jail credit, and discharge notation. Probation is local community supervision and is not the same as release on TDCJ parole.

If sources conflict, compare the agency, identifier, timestamp, facility, and whether each date is projected or actual. Report unresolved differences and seek the record custodian’s response rather than choosing the most convenient result.
